Unite Norman Calls Upon Mayor, City Council to Reject Michael Nash over His Radical Affiliations

UPDATE: Selection Committee’s Pick for Ward 5 Has Been Busy Deleting (Hiding) His Radical Family Associations Weekend “Delete-a-Palooza” Comes after Michael Nash’s Family Associates Exposed for their Positions — Suggesting White People Suffer from “White Fragility” & “White Privilege” and that White People’s Opinions Should Not “Be Given Equal Weight to that of a Person of Color” Nash’s Own Family and Associates are Openly Anti-Police FundingAnti-School Reopening, and Pro-Socialist NORMAN — Unite Norman is calling on the mayor and city council to reject Michael Nash for Ward 5 replacement. The call comes after Michael Nash — the selection committee‘s pick for Ward 5 replacement — was busy over the weekend deleting radical family associates and even distancing himself from his own spouse. The social media “hide-and-seek” comes after Unite Norman pointed out that Nash’s family associates include a list of radicals who are anti-policeanti-police funding, and pro-Socialist — including Nash’s own wife. Nash’s spouse has now locked don her Facebook profile from public view — including locking down from public view her radical Friends list. Nash also deleted at least four associates over the weekend. Late last week, the selection committee chose Nash — whose resume‘ at first blush appeared to be moderate — however, a closer look at his family’s associations reveals radical, divisive views that are vastly outside the mainstream of Norman. Radical views on race: Nash’s family associates have suggested in social media posts that white people suffer from “white fragility” and “white privilege,” and that white people’s opinions should not “be given equal weight to that of a person of color.” They support the radical political Political Action Committee, BLM which has been responsible for protests that have turned violent and millions of dollars of damage across the country, including the shooting death of an individual in Portland over the weekend. Anti-police and anti-police funding: Those same close family friends (described as “besties” and photographed with Nash’s wife on numerous occasions) are very clear about their anti-police and anti-police-funding sentiments. On faith: Other associates of the Nash family openly state they are for “Secular Humanism,” a worldview that relies upon science only and is closely aligned with atheism. That same family associate attacks “American rugged individualism,” calling Americans “sociopathic narcissists” (sic). On Back to School reopenings: They are also vehemently against children going back to school, suggesting that teachers urgently need to prepare their wills when they go return to the classroom. Pro-Socialist: Nash’s own spouse is photographed with admitted Socialist Bernie Sanders, who suggested that people lining up in bread lines for food “a good thing,” and using a photograph that states she stands with the current radical city council. Reaction: “This is anything but arm’s-length independence from the current mayor and city council,” said Russell Smith, co-founder of Unite Norman. “There is nothing independent about this. The citizens in this town spoke very clearly that they don’t want any more radical viewpoints on the city council. This proves they are, sadly, tone deaf to their constituents.” “Thousands of citizens in Ward 5 delivered a message clearly: the people of Ward 5 don’t want their leader to have radical views, or associations with radical people who would influence their views,” said Sassan Moghadam, co-founder of Unite Norman. “This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” The council’s vote over Nash’s appointment is reportedly set for next week.
